Classic Mikado Ballgown with Modern Beaded Belts
I fell in love with this elegant dress because of the gorgeous heavy ivory satin fabric which moved beautifully when I walked. I love how it is fitted on top with a perfect plunge on the neckline down to the full bustled gown.
My very favorite feature of the dress and made me totally fall in love with it is the POCKETS!

The back of the gown has a backless "V" shape that is highlighted by two rows of thin rhinestone belts that were added all around the bodice. The back of the dress features beautiful covered buttons alternating every 5th one with a rhinestone, all the way down to the bottom of the train.
The dress originally came with beaded straps that were a little too uncomfortable to wear given the weight of the dress. I replaced them with fabric shoulder straps that were much more comfortable.
In total, the dress received:
- shoulder strap alterations
- side alterations
- the addition of the two rhinestone belts
- hemming
I never wore the dress because we had to cancel the wedding due to covid and ended up being married in a small ceremony with family in a backyard. It's a beautiful dress!
