Beautiful Embroidered Strapless Fit and Flare Wedding Dress
Spring 2019 Collection
I knew this dress was *it* the moment I put it on. It is a true work of art -- the detailing on the bodice is gorgeous and so intricate; photos can't do it justice --, but also a hot party dress. I felt both elegant and sexy in it, and that's tough to come by! I wanted to enjoy every second of my wedding to the fullest, and wearing this dress was a huge pleasure in and of itself, but also, I danced in it to every single song and was not uncomfortable for a second (plus, the cups and corset were supportive all night). I looked forward to wearing my dress for months and months before the wedding, and the idea of leaving it in a box for years is too sad for me to do. I want somebody else to love my hot party wedding dress like I do!
The dress is from Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2019 collection, look 12 on the designer's website. It's a unique fit -- almost mermaid through the hips, but then it flares out rather than remaining tight toward the knees.
Alterations: I added cups to the dress (no bra necessary!), had it taken in at the waist and chest, and shortened what was originally a long train to a sweep train that I could dance in without needing to bustle.
Condition: The dress has a little bit of soiling at the very bottom that the cleaners could not quite remove, but it is minor -- and if you're shorter than me (I am 5'8" and wore the dress with flats), you could hem the dress and get rid of it entirely. Otherwise, it is as good as new and beautifully preserved.
