Beautiful Boho Sleeveless Plunging V-Neck A-Line Wedding Dress
I originally wanted a used dress but my mom persuaded me to go to a new dress shop just for the experience. I went alone because it was November 2020 when travel was limited. I tried on a couple of dresses first, then the Kyara from Rue de Seine. The other dresses I tried on were too bulky or too classic - I knew wanted something unique. I fell in love with the patterns of lace and the thick waistband of the Kyara. It was the perfect style for me because it was a relaxed shape with an extravagant pattern that flattered my body in all the right places. I immediately Facetimed my mom and my maid of honor - they both agreed it was "the one."
Once the dress was handmade in New Zealand, it was shipped to me for some adjustments. All of the alterations (except the length adjustment), can easily be reversed or adjusted for your perfect dress - I made sure!
- I had the straps moved out about 2 inches on both sides in the back for more support and to better flatter the shape of my shoulders.
- I asked for boning to be put in on the side of the bust for support, so I would not need to wear a bra on the big day.
- The alterations crew did a train-flip bustle so that the train simply flips under the dress and gives the illusion of a floor-length dress without the train.
- Finally, I also had the dress taken up a couple of inches - although they left it fairly long because my heels were 5 inches (without shoes, I am 5'4'').
On my wedding day, this dress did work! It was extremely comfortable and lasted the entire night without any issues. The bustle worked perfectly and was out of my way for the entire celebration after the ceremony was over.
As you might see from the photos, the wedding was outdoors, and the dress help up extremely well. There are no stains or tears in the dress, only some minor wear on the bottom. The dress has also been professionally cleaned since and I would be happy to provide additional close-up photos.
I danced in the dress for the entire night and didn't have any wardrobe malfunctions or issues with movement. This dress was truly unique and met all of my expectations! I hope to find someone who will enjoy it again as much as I did!
