I loved how this dress made me feel -it was comfortable and classic, and I absolutely loved the little details like the lace and the pockets.
It is a classic A-line, silk taffeta, sweetheart neckline with a cut in the center of the sweetheart, with a structured bodice, French applique lace detailing on the front, and sheer organza lace on the back. It has a sash that is slightly darker ivory (the color is called 'cafe') with buttons on the back. The dress has a light layer of tulle underneath the gathered skirt and the back of the dress has a bustle for the (short) train. It also has pockets!! (insert cliche meme about women excited about pockets here).
This dress has been professionally cleaned, and there are no blemishes.
In terms of alterations, the dress originally had spaghetti straps that I had removed, and the tailor had to add lace to the back to account for the width of my back (36"). However, it was incredibly seamless, it didn't change the height of the back closure at all, and there is no discernable difference between the original and additional lace, they matched it perfectly. The dress was also hemmed to account for my height (5'2") while wearing 2" heels and it fell perfectly on the ground without showing my shoes.
