Romantic Strapless Lace Mermaid Wedding Dress With Veil
I felt truly beautiful on my wedding day. It was sophisticated, elegant and showed off my curves without being too sexy, too squeezy, or uncomfortable at all. My dad and husband cried when they saw me for the first time. The first three photos are the sample size at the shop. The last is my actual dress a moment before walking down the aisle.
The lace is absolutely beautiful. The strapless neckline includes beautiful satin detail that is sophisticated and elegant without too much cleavage. The dress looks stunning on an hourglass figure. Mermaid shape. A slight train that has an easy bustle for dancing later. A line of buttons go down the back to the waist and add interest. Your butt will look amazing in this dress, without it being too tight. It was amazingly comfortable. The slight off-white is just that. Ivory but not stark white. I added a very small rhinestone brooch at the bust for a little sparkle.
Condition: Preserved by Heritage Garment Preservation. Hand cleaned - wet process with Museum Method preservation. The wedding gown is wrapped and filled with 100% cotton muslin. There was a small tear in the tulle underneath (what makes the skirt fluffy at the mermaid tail) that has been repaired. Buttons were inspected and fixed 100% at the time of cleaning.
Alterations/Fit: At the time I wore the dress, I was a busty size 10 (normal clothing size, I think the wedding dress size may have been different). The dress was lightly altered at the bust to be secure while dancing. Cups were added as well but can be easily removed. Still in the box from the preservation. Flipped once a year to reduce creasing. The dress was not hemmed after purchase. I do not recall the height measurement. I wore a half-inch heel and I am 5’9” tall but can wear normal-length pants if that helps. The measurement from my flat foot to the notch of my collarbone today is 57”.
The short veil shown in the pictures is included. Very simple and elegant. Lightweight with a single hair clip. Edged in lace in the same shade of ivory. I don’t recall the details regarding the make and model of the veil.
The brooch is not included but you may add your own.
