It is a really lovely dress with the ivory underlay and the unique lace over top. The girl I bought it from said she had the bottom shortened slightly. My other dress (also from BHLDN) was a size 2 and fit perfectly besides the length and this is a size 4 so I would say it runs a little small. There's also a strap inside the dress that buttons like a bra that makes the strapless top feel secure. I would say that the bust also runs on the smaller size and the dress has built in bust cups. From BHDLN: "Inspired by an original bespoke design, this gown is embellished with intricate lace cording from the sweetheart neckline all the way through the fitted bodice and breathtaking scalloped train. From Love, Yu. Back zip and hook-and-eye closure. Nylon; polyester lining. Professionally clean. Imported." This dress was worn once and professionally cleaned. I bought it for my own wedding and gained some weight (wedding stress eating!) so i didn't feel comfortable in it any longer and decided to wear another (less form fitting) dress. Since I have to give my measurements in this listing, the hips/thigh area was tight on the dress so it would probably be too tight for someone with 38" hips. It still fit but wasn't easy to move around in.
