Beautiful Cap Sleeve Sweetheart Lace & Organza Ball Gown
This is a truly gorgeous dress! I couldn't have dreamed of a more beautiful gown for my wedding day.
I love how it frames the upper body, the stunning open back, and how the skirt ripples down in asymmetrical, flowing lines. The lace embroidery moving from the bodice into the skirt is a lovely detail. It also does an incredible twirl!
I am 5'5", size 32F in bra, and have an athletic body type.
There were some alterations to the dress for the best fit for me -
- About 3 inches were taken off the bottom to shorten it (and the horsehair trim was moved up with it)
- 3 layers of a bit longer of the same nude contrast lining were added under the existing one to create a thicker net that provides support and a bit more of a 'modesty' cover (though not too much!) over the chest.
- There is a 'bustle' element in the back where there are 3 little hooks (you can barely see them) where the bottom of the dress can be pinned up so that it doesn't drag.
The dress was purchased new from Glamour Closet and was worn only once on the night of my wedding in September 2021.
The bottom 5 inches of the dress have some dirt (pictured) as a result of dancing for the backyard wedding that would need professional cleaning, or if the bride is shorter it could be hemmed off as an alteration. There is also a tiny hole (pictured) on the inside of the dress that would be undetectable when it is worn.
