Organza Strapless Sweetheart Floral Mermaid Wedding Dress
This intricately detailed, mermaid-style gown by Mark Zunino features a strapless sweetheart neckline and a dropped waist in chiffon. The gown also features hand-sewn flowers and Swarovski crystal detail on the bust and skirt. The gown is Exclusive to Kleinfeld Bridal and has been featured in 3 Say Yes to the Dress episodes. It is also one of the top 5 most popular Mark Zunino dresses sold at Kleinfeld. Kleinfeld unfortunately does not sell this dress anymore.
I chose this dress because it is absolutely breathtaking in person. The flower and Swarovski crystal detailing is stunning and the ruched corset cinched my waist and highlighted my curves. This dress needs to be seen in person - pictures do not do it justice! I tried on at least a dozen gowns and nothing compared to how this dress made me feel. I was also fortunate enough to meet with Mark Zunino in person and have his expertise to ensure the dress fit perfectly to my body. Mark Zunino is recognized as one of Beverley Hills' leading fashion designers for A-list celebrities and the global social elite and this dress is just one beautiful example of why that is!
Condition: The dress was worn only ONCE on my wedding day, indoors in a church and in the reception venue. Unfortunately, the floors must have been quite dirty as the bottom of the dress is discolored from dirt, which the dry cleaners were unable to remove. However, the flowers can easily be removed from the dress and the bottom cut and altered to remove the stain. The stain is only on the very bottom where the dress touched the ground. There are no other stains or defects on the gown whatsoever. I am 5'7" and wore 4" heels with the dress, so it can easily be altered to remove the bottom portion of the gown for someone shorter.
The gown was professionally dry-cleaned and preserved, as you can see from the photos. The top of the gown was placed on a mannequin to hold the shape of the corset and has not been removed from the box in order to preserve it. The box is completely sealed. I will absolutely remove the gown from the box and take photos if there is a buyer/interested buyer, but I would like to keep it preserved up until that time to minimize any damage or discoloration.
Alterations: Only alterations were to make the gown fit my body - nothing added or removed from the original design of the gown. Custom Mark Zunino-designed veil with floral appliqué is also available to match the dress.
The cost of the veil was $2,700 CAD.
