Classic Vintage-Inspired Lace Wedding Dress
From the designer: The golden age of Hollywood is personified in this magnificent vintage-inspired wedding dress. Designed with classic ivory lace which extends into an elegant full sleeve, this gown features a sheath silhouette and a cascading train, but it is the plunging neckline which provides a focal point worthy of the big screen.
Under the lace, there is a thin layer of tulle with a sparkle embroidered detail that you can really only see up close, or when the dress hits a certain light (that's where the pizzazz comes in!)
I truly felt like a timeless, old Hollywood actress in this dress, it made me feel so glamorous on my wedding day.
My husband was in pure shock when he saw me! No words could express how beautiful this dress is and how beautiful it made me feel. I would love to give that feeling to someone else.
I would say the only annoying part about the dress was the bustling of the dress, my sisters had a hard time finding the loops, because they were so thin and the dress is all lace - it was like finding a needle in a haystack! But once it was up - it was great, it didn't feel heavy, it was so easy to walk around and dance in!
Alterations made on the dress:
- The dress had no lace on the sleeves at first, just sheer - but I worked with the seamstress to add lace to make the dress have more of a real sleeve.
- The sheer tool (aka "Illusion color" on the sleeve, changed it to nude instead of ivory.
- We added lace to fill the center of the very deep-v neckline that was originally on the dress.
- Took up hem, took in the sides, shoulders, and back, took up sleeves, and moved darts.
- Added custom bustle.
