Buyer FAQ

> What is your return policy?

Nearly Newlywed offers a risk-free 5 day return policy on all of our items. You have 5 days upon receipt of the dress to try it on and decide. If you wish to return a dress shipped within the contiguous United States, just log into your account and request a return and we will send you a prepaid UPS return label via email within 24 hours. Once we receive your return, you will receive a full refund of the sale price paid less a $25 restocking fee per item returned. For orders outside of the contiguous United States, please see our international shipping and return policies.  

> What is your return policy for international buyers?

Nearly Newlywed offers the same risk-free 5 day return policy on all of our items to international buyers. You have 5 days upon receipt of the dresses to try your items and decide if any are right for you or not. If you wish to return a dress please contact us. Once we respond to confirm we are expecting your return, please ship the item back securely. You are responsible for selecting a preferred carrier and the costs associated with the return.  Once we receive and inspect your return you will receive a full refund of the sale price less the shipping. For orders to Hawaii, Alaska & Army Bases, the same policies apply. Actual shipping costs may vary by location. 

> Can I alter the dress?

New or used, it is totally normal & expected for a gown to need multiple alterations to make it fit just right! Just refer to the size and fit guide and remember that a lot can be done with alterations. Consult with your local seamstress during your at home fitting period and discuss changes that you would like to be made. Dresses can easily be taken in and most can be let out a bit. If alterations are not an option simply return the gown within the 5 day return period for a full refund less restocking fees.

> Can I Resell the dress after I wear it or alter it?

Of course! Any dress purchased with Nearly Newlywed is pre-approved to list again on the site to sell.  You may alter the gown to your size, just take good care of it during the big day so that it can retain most of its value and be in touch with us once you are ready to resell it!  Nearly Newlywed also offers a steeply discounted professional cleaning service to help get your dress ready to resell!

> What is your guarantee?

We guarantee authenticity, safety and security. We thoroughly inspect every dress, every time. We curate and authenticate every gown sold, inspecting it before we ship it to you to try on.  We process all payments and handling, so there are no risks. Our guarantee is about quality and safety for all of our brides.

> How do I know that a used dress will look how it says it will?

First, be sure to closely inspect all of the photos & the description provided. All preowned gowns are received and inspected by the Nearly Newlywed authentication team.  If the gown does not pass our inspection team's review we will let you know prior to shipping it out and offer the chance to cancel the order with a full refund.

> Do I need to clean a used dress or is it already professionally cleaned?

Most of our dresses are professionally cleaned. If they're in need of some TLC, the pricing and description generally reflects that. If it still doesn't meet expectations, we can chat with our sellers about either getting it cleaned upon purchase or further discounting the gown to cover additional cleaning and repairs.

> How does an 'At Home Fitting' work?

It is easy and fun. Find gowns you wish to try on and order them for your own at home fitting. We will ship them out to you to try on in the privacy of your own home. Invite your girlfriends, consult with a seamstress and enjoy yourself - no sales pressure! After receiving the dresses, you'll have five days to make a decision. Keep what you love and return what you don't.

> How much is shipping?

Shipping within the contiguous United States is a flat $25 per order. A $25 restocking fee is applied to each item returned.  International shipping costs may vary and are calculated by location at checkout.

> How do I measure myself for a dress?

All you'll need is a measuring tape, a friend, & our super easy-to-use size and fit guide!

> How should I provide measurements for a Made To Order gown?

We will work with you and the designer to ensure measurements are exact. You will want to visit a tailor to have them take your exact measurements and then send those along to us to ensure your gown is made to fit you exactly right.

> What happens when I order a Made To Order gown?

When you place an order for a Made To Order gown, a sample will be sent upon purchase for you to try and decide. If you'd lie to keep the gown, return the sample to us free of charge and we will then proceed with acquiring your specific measurements for the custom gown. If you'd like to cancel your order, simply return the sample and your order will be refunded less shipping. Note, made to order gowns can take up to 12 weeks to produce, so please plan accordingly, including enough time to receive the gown and to visit your local atelier to have the gown further altered as needed.

> Is it risky to buy a used wedding dress?

Not when you are buying with Nearly Newlywed! We take all of the risk out of the process. Every dress on our site is curated by the Nearly Newlywed staff. If you select a gown that you want to try on we will authenticate, assess and ship the gown directly to you.  Every dress is backed by our authenticity and quality guarantee. All of our dresses also carry our risk-free return policy. You can return any dress, no matter the reason, within 5 days of receiving it for a refund less restocking fees.



Seller FAQ

> How do I sell with Nearly Newlywed?

Visit our sell formand fill in your dress details, photos & measurements. Set your own selling price and pay the 25$ listing fee, which includes your online listing that never expires and dedicated customer service that handles all inquiries from potential buyers. You don’t have to lift a finger, or answer an email, until your dress sells. Once your dress sells, you’ll receive a prepaid shipping label to send the gown to us for inspection & condition verification. We coordinate all details with the buyer, including payment, insurance, shipping and returns, and any questions they have. Once the sale is confirmed, we will send you payment via paypal for 65% of the sale price.

> Do I need to clean my dress before I sell it?

Dresses that have been professionally cleaned sell up to twice as fast and with lower risk of return than dresses that have not been cleaned, so we strongly suggest having your gown cleaned after your wedding. Nearly Newlywed has partnered with one of the top wedding gown cleaning professionals in the country to offer significantly discounted cleanings for our sellers. Just select 'Yes' to receive more info about cleaning when you list your dress to sell via the sell form.

> I just submitted my dress to sell & paid the $25 listing fee, now what?

Your dress will be reviewed by our quality control team within 24-48 hours. Once approved, we will notify you via email that your listing is live on the site. You'll then be able to login to your seller dashboard to manage your listing details. We will work on selling your dress for you and you won’t need to do anything but relax and wait until we contact you to ship the gown in when it sells.

> What percentage of dresses sell?

We boast the highest sell-through rate due to our condition and authentication verification process. Most dresses that are priced competitively (at least 50% off retail) sell within six months, depending on the season.

> How much time does it take for a dress to sell?

Selling time varies and depends on lots of factors including designer, season, style, size, etc. The process can take anywhere from just a few weeks to a year. Set your selling price competitively, take good photos, and have the dress professionally cleaned and your dress will have a higher likelihood of selling quickly.

> Will I need to answer questions from buyers?

No! We handle all questions, inquiries and customer service, so you can sit back and relax until you hear from us that we have found a serious buyer!

>What is your return policy and how does it work?

Buyers have 5 days from when they receive the gown to decide to keep it or request a return, which allows them time to meet with a seamstress and determine if the gown is the right fit for them. If the buyer returns the gown, we have a strict quality control process to ensure you and your dress are protected. We will let you know via email if your gown is being returned. When we receive the returned gown, our quality control team will review it alongside the photos and condition report originally created when we received the gown from you, the seller. If the dress passes inspection, the buyer receives a refund and we will hold your dress in stock for up to 90 days in anticipation that it resells quickly. If it does not resell within that time frime we will ship the gown back to you at no cost. In the rare instance that there are condition flags upon inspection that the dress sustained wear beyond shipping and from being tried on, the return will not be accepted and you, as the seller, will receive the full 65% commission for the sale.

>How is my wedding dress protected?

Nearly Newlywed takes full responsibility for the safety of your gown when in our possession or in possession of a buyer. We store returned gowns safely and securely in our temperature-controlled facilities, and provide detailed condition reports to ensure no abuse of the return policy.

> Why should I sell my dress with Nearly Newlywed?
