The manipulation of the layers of folded fabric, arranged skillfully, create depth and character in this dress. The look: incredibly romantic despite the lack of beading, lace or petticoats. Additionally, Ethel is made of stretch Mikado, allowing innovation in form. The bodice of Ethel is a contrast – clean and structured – accentuated by a simple grosgrain sash. I chose grosgrain, rather than horsehair, because its classic elegance and subtly felt more appropriate for this wedding dress. The tightly woven, ribbed texture adds depth while remaining versatile to mood and occasion.” ~Vera Wang This is an authentic Vera Wang Ethel. This dress is sophisticated and sexy at the same time. The skirt made of organza is a work of art, and the overall fit is amazing. Because the material, silk Mikado, is a bit stretchy, if you are an inch or two around the listed dimensions, the dress should still fit very nicely. Gown is brand new, never even tried on. Gown is from the Vera Wang Couture Wedding Collection, purchased from an upscale bridal salon called Exquisite Bride in Millburn, NJ near the infamous Short Hills Mall. I have the original receipt and Certificate of Authenticity (I am the original owner/purchaser). The Ethel dress is stunning and Ethel deserves a beautiful bride to finally take her down the aisle.
